Implementation

In the project were participating 10 organisations (6 participants and 2 leaders) from the countries: Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Moldova, Portugal and Poland and was implemented in Hylation Tourist Village in Pissouri from 29 of August till 5 of September 2021.

The aim of this project is to increase the level of environmental knowledge and awareness about the need to protect the environment through alternative methods in line with the environmental reality in local communities.

All participants were given a reusable plastic bottle and a glass from day one, which we kept until the end of the program. The purpose of this act was to reduce plastic waste.

The general theme of the programme is climate change and the greenhouse effect. The idea is to use a variety of different non-formal educational methods of thinking outside the box for green entrepreneurial entrepreneurship for self-improvement, personal development, mentoring, time management, psychology against social and cultural discrimination and many other issues that become part of our personality.

The first day of our stay, while we were waiting for the other teams to arrive, we had the chance to get to know the Hylation Tourist Village. At the afternoon, a presentation of the project, the aims and the goals was presented by Mr. Nikos Nikolaou. Later that day a creative game was played so we could get to know each other.

The second day we had a game activity which was called "The Cyprus island 39 years after the global energy distraction". Each team had participants from different countries. The aim of the game was to choose which energy source was most suitable for the conditions of each village/town in Cyprus. Afterwards, each team had to present and illustrate the decisions they made for each place in Cyprus. For the Cyprus night our team shared with the rest of the participants some of our traditional foods and a kahoot game was played.

The next day, all the teams had to make a front page with a subject "From local environmental problems to global environmental problems". After presenting the posters each team made, the international night was held by Armenia, Moldova and Bulgaria. They brought some of their traditional foods and each country presented about their own culture. Kahoot games were played and then they taught us their traditional dances.

The fourth day after our breakfast we had a trip to the centre of Pissouri village. There we had to do some tasks so that we could get to know the village. All the teams had as a prize a bottle of wine. When we got back to the hosting place we decided to go to the beach and have some fun with some other participants. At the end of the day a pool party was made where all of us had an amazing time.

The day after, in the morning, we had another trip in Limassol, but first we had a quick stop at the Kourion amphitheater. There everyone had to present a theatre in which each team had a different script. Then, in Limassol the other participants had the chance to get to know the city. At the afternoon, we went at the tennis court of the hotel. Later on, Portugal, Spain and Poland hosted their international nights in which we learnt a lot of things about their culture, their foods and dances.

The sixth day, as soon as we woke up we went for a long hike with destination the beach. At the evening, each team prepared a presentation about innovating ideas of a green project or product in practice. That night, the countries that had to present their international night were Georgia, Croatia and North Macedonia.

Saturday morning, each team introduced their projects with a creative way including yoga, dancing and games. After a while, each country had to prepare their dissemination plan through a poster. In the afternoon, the youthpasses were given to everyone. For the last night a farewell party was made.

Finally on Sunday, each participant went back to their country. ☹

It was an amazing and unforgettable experience as we learnt a lot of useful information about climate change. Moreover, we had the chance to meet new people and learn about their culture and traditions.
